Product Description

VitaSel-E is a feed supplement for all horses and ponies, containing scientifically determined levels of selenium and vitamin E, two nutrients which act as antioxidants and are essential for optimal function of the body’s systems, particularly the muscular, reproductive and immune systems.

Product Benefits

Every horse and pony should be fed adequate levels of vitamin E and the micro-mineral selenium. Both selenium and vitamin E are important for antioxidant defence which act to protect cell membranes from damage. Both nutrients act to maintain normal muscle function and help to “mop-up” oxidative tissue damage that results from exercise. Vitamin E has been shown to boost foal health via effects on the mare’s colostrum and milk. Extra supplementation of this vitamin supported levels of the substances in colostrum that are vital for foal immune function (immunoglobins). A deficiency of either nutrient may lead to poor immunity, lowered immune status, reduced fertility and endurance as well as poor overall performance. Many areas of the USA are soil-deficient in Selenium so grass and hay from these areas may not supply the required levels – VitaSel-E makes certain of a full supply.

Competition horses and ponies for optimal muscle function.

Broodmares, or pregnant and lactating mares for potential effects on the immune status of the foal as well as protection against muscular problems.

Stallions

Stressed or ‘run-down’ horses and ponies to support immune system function

Horses and ponies grazing and/or eating forage from areas with selenium-deficient soil.

Horse and ponies with +250ml oil added to their daily diet (such as corn, soya or cod liver oils).

1 level scoop of VitaSel-E weighs approximately 30g/1oz. All horses (including pregnant mares) fed low levels of compound feed and ill horses should be fed at the rates for hard work according to bodyweight. Feed supplements should be fed according to bodyweight - height has been given as a guide. Introduce gradually, splitting between feeds (when applicable). VitaSel-E is safe to feed continuously, providing the directions for use are followed closely. VitaSel-E can be fed along with any other Feedmark feed supplement.
